WE'RE BUILDING NEXT-GEN DESIGN TOOLS FOR AR
We’re seeking a Unity Developer to join our team in Oslo or remotely.
Full-time · Oslo / Remote (CET +/- 2 hours)
About the role
You’ll have the unique chance to help build next-gen design tools for AR/XR experiences.
As one of the first engineers on the team, you’ll have the opportunity make a big impact on the product, shape the vision with the team and influence how AR/XR experiences will be composed and curated in the future.
Appear is on a mission to fix the broken product design process for rich extended reality (XR) experiences. We’re starting an ambitious journey to create next-generation tools to design immersive experiences for XR.
Our vision is to the free the curiosity of designers from limitations of other platforms and static 2D frames and ultimately enable a design process that produces high quality and engaging XR experiences.
Appear is the first tool that focuses on the needs of XR-designers when composing advanced experiences and products for augmented and mixed reality. Our unique system enables the creation of rich and playful experiences that truly interact with the surrounding environment —we’re defining how we’ll interact with and within the spatial experiences.
What we’re looking for

Strong understanding of C#

Experience working UX and interaction designers
Nice to have
Knowledge in architecture and design principles is a plus
Familiarity with Unity’s AR Foundation and its evolving API
Familiarity with real-time networked experiences

What we’d like you to do

Work hands-on with designers and technologists on prototypes, POCs and implementation of cross-platform AR features, editor and UI functionality
We’re committed to cultivating a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels comfortable, regardless of their identity, experiences and beliefs.
We want to create a place where you can try out new things with the risk of failing, where you can take ownership over your own work without being micromanaged, and where there’s a low barrier for coming up with ideas — no matter your job title or discipline.
Please note that this is a role based in Oslo (Norway) or Remote in Europe (CET +/- 2 hours).
