Kitchen photos

Well, I have finally managed to take some photos of our kitchen (suitably tidy – it never looks like this!)  We did all the work ourselves, taking down a wall, removing all the old units, installing a new floor in hall and kitchen/dining space, new breakfast bar and worktop, kitchen units and appliances.  It took 2 weeks to most of the work and then about a month more to finish.  Was well worth it as with two small children you can see what they are up to (food on floor, standing precariously on chairs etc.)

In total the work cost us £3000 and well worth it as we have a much lighter, open and flexible space.  In hindsight would have invested a bit more on the cooker and, with more money, opened up the rear facade to the garden with a big sliding door.

  1. Love this kitchen. Thinking of doing something similar with our property – we need to knock down a wall between the lounge and kitchen. Did you have to put any structure in place to hold up the ceiling? Was that expensive?
